Junior High Virtual Tour
Hello Rising 7th grade families. Linked below is a Virtual Tour created by some of our 8th grade students. We hope that this helps give your child a preview of our Junior High building. In addition, students will have the opportunity to walk their schedules during schedule pick up days in August. This will allow them to find their specific classrooms prior to the 1st day of school and increase their familiarity with the building.
Schedule Pick-up days are currently scheduled for:
Monday August 23rd 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Tuesday August 24th 8:00am - 12:00pm
*Please note that these dates/times are subject to change.
As an added layer to support Rising 7th grade students with the transition, only 7th grade students will be in attendance on the 1st day of school, Monday August 30th.
We are excited to welcome all Rising 7th grade students to the Junior High!
Keep an eye out for updates and reminders in the newsletter!

Lost and Found
Hello parents!
As the school year winds down, we wanted to remind you that there are many items in our Lost and Found area in the Cafeteria Lobby. Please have your child check to see if there may be a jacket or coat, lunch box, books, etc. that belong to him or her. If items are not claimed by the end of the school year (June 3rd), they will be donated to charity. Thank you!
Yearbooks
Many Thanks to Our PTO Volunteers
In this unusual school year the PTO has been unable to do many of its usual programs, but many thanks to these PTO Chairs who went above and beyond to come up with creative ways to put together some PTO Programs during this year of Covid restrictions:
Staff Appreciation
Our wonderful staff appreciation committee of Christa Lloyd, Alicia Murphy, Erin Sedgwick, and Laura Helms has been busy all year coming up with “safe” ways of showing our appreciation to the Greene School staff and teachers. They were especially busy during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7, with some grab and go snacks, a donut truck, a catered box lunch, and fun tokens of appreciation for our wonderful teachers.
Wellness Week
Kim Perkins took on the challenge of creating a virtual Wellness Week for our students and staff that ran May 10-14. It was a chance for everyone to take stock of their own wellness, learn about the many aspects of wellness and how we can improve them, as well as compete in the school-wide outdoor challenge and win some fun prizes.
6th Grade Picnics
Our 6th grade picnic chairpeople, Julie Johnson, Ann Falci, and Marion Messerle, have revamped our traditional 6th grade celebration and picnic to work in this year of Covid with appropriate health and safety guidelines so that our 6th graders have a chance to celebrate the end of their years at Greene School. And thanks to the many other parents who are donating snacks and volunteering their time to help out on these days
Greene Thumb
Debra Schroeck and Myrna Guiot continue to enhance the beauty of our school by keeping the pots out front planted with seasonal color.
Bus Walk Bike Day
Thanks to the effort of our administration, staff, local police, Sarah Newman, a Greene alumni parent who continues to want to help out with this, and Kristen Laughlin, our PTO ECO Team Chair, we were able to hold another BWB day on May 14. Students enjoyed arriving at school on foot and bike as we gave our cars a break and helped the environment
Walkathon
Camilla Millar and Rebecca Erck headed our Walkathon Committee, and with many volunteers, kept our walkers on course and refreshed! Thanks for a VERY successful Walkathon 21!

Spring Clothing Drive
Dear Families of Greene,
From May 10th through May 28th, there will be a clothing drive to benefit Matthew 25 Ministries. At the front entrance of E.H. Greene, two large boxes will be parked there. You may bring items such as tops, bottoms, dresses, and shoes. Linens, like towels and sheets, are also acceptable. You do not need to purchase any new items; lesser-used items will be just fine! Possible donation times are within school hours.
