PHMS Announcements: September 22-28, 2019
2. Congratulations to the football team for defeating Batesburg-Leesville. They play an away game at Gilbert High School on Wednesday. The game starts at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $5.00.
3. Congratulations to the volleyball team on their wins last week. They will play at Lexington Middle on Tuesday and Carolina Springs Middle at home on Thursday. Matches start at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $5.00.
4. This year Pleasant Hill Middle School, along with other middle schools in Lexington One, is offering an after school Visual Arts program. There is no charge to participate in the Honors Art program. If students are interested in trying out for this wonderful art program please stop by Mrs. Ritch's room one day this week. We have the applications and will share all the information we can with you about the program.The program runs October 22nd through February 4th. Classes will meet after school from 3:45-5:15. Auditions will be held Oct. 1, 2019 in the art studio, room 502, from 3:45-5:00.
5. Wednesday is a Collaborative Planning day. Lunch will be served and students will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m.
6. There will be a basketball meeting for 7th and 8th grade girls interested in trying out for the 2019 school year on Thursday, September 26th during homeroom with Coach Lucas and Coach Lanum. The meeting will be in room 204. You must have a current physical on file before you can practice. Please see Mrs. Wooten in guidance for a copy of the physical form.
7. The Lexington High School girls basketball team is hosting a 3 on 3 tournament for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade girls in October. See the attached flyer for details.
8. Would you like to go camping, hiking, kayaking, and whitewater rafting, as well as develop leadership skills and friendships? Would you like to earn the rank of Eagle Scout? Stop by and meet leaders from your local Scouts BSA unit on Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the PHMS Learning Commons.
Our theme for the school year is LEAD with PRIDE. We hope that this theme will inspire our students to have a feeling of self respect and satisfaction for the things that they will accomplish this year.
