Second Grade News
Week 19 - January 15-19, 2018
English Language Arts
This week we will be completing a biographical study on Martin Luther King Jr. During this study we will focus on key events in Dr. King’s life and in history. We will then use these key events to create a timeline. Our grammar focus for the week will be the proper use of commas in a series and in dates.
Spelling:
Our spelling words for the week have the /s/ sound. The /s/ sound can be spelled with the letter s, like you see in the words sit and pass.
It can also be spelled with the letter c, like you see in the words mice and pencil.
Math
Science
In science this week we will make our own anemometer to measure wind speed. We will also learn about the water cycle.
