End of the 1st Semester
Where did the time go?
The end is near
The end of the semester is quickly approaching (3 weeks left?!). We were studying phases of matter and phase changes but we have begun a new unit on atoms and the periodic table. We will be learning about the periodic table and how things bond until Winter Break begins.
Our last notebook check of the semester will be next week!
Phase Change Video Lab Reports
Phase changes are an important standard for 8th grade science. Instead of writing a lab report about watching ice melt then eventually boil, they created a video that explains and shows what is happening in terms of the molecules.
Getting Creative!
We have a lot of very creative students on the Teal Team. Recently we completed a phase change cartoon as well as an atomic model project.
Dry Ice Fun
During our phase change unit, the students get to play with dry ice and discover how quickly it sublimates (goes from a solid to a gas with NO liquid phase).
