Admin Update
I hope everyone has enjoyed this weekend's beautiful weather! The transition into spring brings warmer temperatures and you guessed it state testing :-) This week we will begin the Illinois Assessment for Readiness or IAR. Ms. Bailey and our intermediate teachers have been preparing for this assessment for several weeks and look forward to giving our super star students an opportunity to demonstrate all they have learned this year. If you have any questions regarding the assessment please contact Ms. Bailey (meganbailey@naperville203.org).
This past week we were joined by Mutual Ground who provided sexual abuse prevention education programming to all our Steeple Run students. Based on my observations and reports from our classroom teachers their instruction engaged our students and developed important awareness around personal body safety. I am thankful for their partnership and will advocate for their continued involvement in our students Social Emotional Learning in the coming years. If you have any questions or feedback regarding this programming please contact me at jlouis@naperville203.org. I have left the Mutual Ground parent letter link below which includes the contact information of Mutual Ground’s Prevention Education
Coordinator should you have any specific content related questions.
Sincerely,
Principal Louis

Jefferson Junior High School 5th Grade Parent Orientation
Dear Future Patriot Families,
Please join us on Wednesday, April 17th at 7 p.m. for the 5th Grade Parent Orientation. We will be meeting in the Jefferson Wood Gym for a brief presentation from the administrative team and your student’s counselor. Then, there will be a parent to parent panel where you can hear from the parents of current 6th graders. Afterwards, teachers will give tours of the building.
The presentation will be repeated for students when they visit on April 29th, April 30th, or May 1st depending on their elementary school. Students do not need to attend unless that helps your family.
Please read the attached letter with the timeline for other dates in the transition process. More information will be discussed that evening and in future Talk203 communications. We look forward to having your child join us in the 2019-2020 school year.
Thank you,

Estimadas futuras familias Patriot,
Muchas gracias,
