The Tatem Times
September 13, 2019
Our first week of full school days has come to a close. We have two fun events tonight, sponsored by our PTA, and I hope to see many of you there! I heard that a certain tiger might make an appearance . . .
6 pm - K/1 Playground Meet-Up and Celebrity Story Time
7 pm - Welcome Back Movie - Pokemon: Detective Pikachu
Please be sure to add your child's name to the Robotics Lottery, if you are interested in possibly having him or her participate. (See Notes and Reminders below for the link.) The deadline is Monday! I hope to run the random lottery by Wednesday and let you know if a spot was reserved for your child as soon as possible. Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 24th.
Don't forget to join the Tatem PTA, pay your dues and sign up for MemberHub!
Enjoy the weekend!

Fall Fundraiser - Tatem PTA
In collaboration with the Tatem PTA, we are hosting a Tatem Tiger Fun Run, and our goal is to raise $12,000 for an outdoor classroom!
In just a few weeks from now, family and friends will support our school by giving pledges towards the number of laps your student will run on the day of the Fun Run.
We’ve asked the fundraising experts at Booster to power our program, making our fundraising simpler, more profitable, and more fun.

Saturday Morning smArt Education at Rowan University
Dr. Gene Neglia is a professor in the Department of Art Education at Rowan University. One of the courses he teaches is Jr. Practicum A- Elementary Art and through this course he provides an outreach program to families and students in the surrounding communities. Each Saturday from September 21 – December 7, 9:00 am -11:00 am, they offer Saturday Morning Art (smART) classes to children in grades K-8. The Practicum students create units of study and develop lesson plans for each class.
The cost to attend this program is $50.00 per child and covers all supplies. At the conclusion of the program they have a student exhibition for all to attend. Each student is supervised by University faculty and adjunct professors who are currently art educators in nearby districts. Parents are invited to stay in a reception room while their child is in class or they may leave the campus and return to pick them up at the designated time.
For further information, Dr. Neglia can be reached at 201-349-5726 or by email at gn71550@aol.com

Video Surveillance
The Haddonfield Borough School District utilizes video-only surveillance cameras at certain school sites in public areas where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy. The purpose of surveillance camera usage is to prevent vandalism, protect taxpayer property, and for student misconduct. The Haddonfield Borough Police Department via the Uniform State Memorandum of Agreement Between Education and Law Enforcement Officials through the Camden County Prosecutor's Office has access to District video surveillance information.
