Library Hours

Welcome to the Lisa B. Tuttle Library
The Lisa B. Tuttle Library is a beautiful space open to all faculty and students before and after school in additional to regular school hours. The library has a collection of over 10,000 print and digital items. In addition to our own collection, we belong to the Northshire Consortium and share resources with Manchester Elementary Middle School and Manchester Community Library, which brings our total local collection to over 50,000 items. Our goal is to provide materials to enrich the curriculum as well as your personal interests. If we don’t have a book that you are looking for locally, we will request an interlibrary loan through the Vermont Department of Libraries system which contacts public, school and university libraries or we will purchase it for the collection. Here is the link to the online catalog. Please email me with any book requests.
Electronic Resources
BBA subscribes to a number of research databases including:
JSTOR
Historical NY Times
GALE (collection of over 50 databases)
Blooms Literature
SIRS Opposing Viewpoints
CREDO Reference
You should be able to connect to all databases automatically while you are on the campus. Passwords are needed for off-campus use. These passwords can be found in the student and faculty resources in OnCampus. This document provides descriptions of the databases and is helpful in determining which database is most useful for a given need.
Food for Thought
You all have a library card
Come on by to check out books! If we don’t have the book you are looking for, we will borrow it from another library for you. As a Burr and Burton student you are also eligible for a Manchester Community Library (MCL) card. Just bring your school ID to MCL to apply for your card.
BBA Reads
There are so many book lovers and readers on campus and we wanted to share what they are reading with you. To support our culture of reading, the library posts "I'm reading" signs outside of faculty and staff offices. Look around campus for these signs to find a great read and quench your curiosity.
Green Mountain Book Award
The Green Mountain Book Award is a student choice award for 9th-12th grade students in the state of Vermont. Read at least 3 of the selections to be able to cast a vote for the winner in the Spring.
The library has all 15 nominated books in our collection. Stop by to peruse this collection on display in the library.
