Summary

Hans Augusto Rey was born on September 16, 1898 in Hamburg, Germany. Ever since he was little, he loved writing, drawing, and animals. He later married Margret Rey. Together they created a little monkey named George, Curious George. They wrote many children's books about this wonderous little character and his adventures. Hans and Margret fled from paris in 1940 because of the nazis invasion of the city. They took very little items with them, but one of those items was the Curious George manuscript. Hans eventually died in August 26, 1977. Margret kept on writing Curious George books because she knew she had to finish what Hans started.

Theme of H.A. Rey's books.

The theme of these books are to have fun and be happy. I think this because in the book, "Curious George Goes to the Beach", the author says "George was having so much fun at the beach!" This proves my theme because it shows that George was having fun while doing his activities through out the day. Secondly, in the book, "Curious George Goes to the Hospital", it says "Even though George had a rough day, he still had fun at the end of the day with the man in the yellow hat." This also proves my point because it shows that even though he had to go to the hospital, he still had fun and was happy. Finally in the book, "Curious George Goes to the Zoo", the author quotes "George was so happy to be there at the zoo." This proves my point because it explains that he was so happy to be blessed to be able to go to the zoo.
