Dual Enrollment Registration
An admissions representative from Carroll Community College will be at South Carroll to register students for the spring semester. As long as parents have previously met with the school counselor, they do not need to attend. If you have not met with a school counselor and are planning for Dual Enrollment for the first time, please call the Counseling Center to schedule an appointment with your student's counselor.
Students should sign up in the Counseling Center or online (like a college visit) and be sure to have the registration form completed with your counselor ahead of time.

Seniors
Seniors should have met with or will soon be meeting with their school counselors. In order for the school to submit a transcript to colleges or universities, students must complete a Transcript Request form. Forms are available in the Counseling Center or online. The first 3 transcripts are free, then $2 for each additional transcript. We require 10 schools days for processing.
Visit our page on Grade Specific Resources.
Students requiring Letters of Recommendation should complete the blue Student Credential Sheet (also available in the Counseling Center or on the website).
Be sure to add your counselor as a recommender if you are using an online application or attach a copy of any paper Secondary School Reports.
Please contact your student's counselor with any questions!

SAT and ACT
SCHS CEEB Code: 211005
Most students take the SAT/ACT during their Junior / Senior year in high school. At least half of all students take the SAT twice – in the spring of their Junior year and in the fall of their Senior year. Most students improve their score the second time around.

12/1/18- Registration Deadline is 11/2/18, No CCPS location
3/9/19- Registration Deadline is 2/8/19, CCPS Location: WHS
Next ACT:

SAT- The SAT measures critical thinking skills you'll need for academic success in college. The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. The test includes a critical reading, writing and language and a math section. The essay portion is optional. Each section is scored on a scale of 200 - 800. It is administered seven times a year. Scores are typically available two weeks after taking the test; however, the June test scores may take up to six weeks. For more information, testing dates, online sample questions, preparation materials, and to register for a test, go to www.collegeboard.org
SAT Subject Tests- Subject Tests are designed to measure your knowledge and skills in particular subject areas, as well as your ability to apply that knowledge. Many colleges use the Subject Tests for admission and to advise students about course selection. Check with the colleges you are interested in applying to determine the specific tests you should take. Most students take Subject Tests toward the end of their junior year or at the beginning of their senior year. For more information and to register for a test, go to http://sat.collegeboard.org/about-tests/sat-subject-tests
ACT- The ACT is another widely accepted college entrance exam. It assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work in the areas of English, math, reading, and science. There is also an optional writing test. Each section is scored from 1-36 and there is a composite score. It is offered six times a year. For more information and to register, go to www.actstudent.org
Students with financial need may be eligible for fee waivers to take the SAT and/or ACT. Please see your counselor!
