UGLY
New Pretty Town Author:
Ugly
Unpleasant or repulsive, especially in appearance.
Used in the story to describe normal people that have not had a complete makeover like the people in pretty town.
Impacted the story because it made all of us think they were just talking about generally ugly people. Not people that were normal and hadn't had a makeover.
Connotation
Zach-Something or someone he doesn't want to look at
Katlin-A word used to describe someone
Sarah-She looks at it as a personality description
Jacolby- Zach
Betty-She looks at it as being a way to describe someones attitude
Sarah and Betty
Sarah's was a pretty positive connotation because honestly I don't know very many people who think of someone personality when the word ugly is said.
Betty's was positive because she didn't automatically turn it into putting someone down, not about the way someone looks.
Katlin and Zach
This was negative because they automatically went to judge someone or something. They can put someone down thinking that way.
Jacolby
Jacolby's was just straight up mean.
Katlin, Zach, Sarah, Jacolby, Betty
