Message From Dr. Otway
I hope this message finds you well. We are excited to announce in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month we will celebrate with the upcoming LatinoFest on the Lawn at College Park Elementary. We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating the rich and diverse culture and contributions of the Latino communities. We would love to celebrate you and educate our students and the College Park Community.

Our Hispanic Heritage Festival is a wonderful opportunity for our students and their families to come together and embrace the traditions, history, and achievements of Hispanic and Latino cultures. This event will feature a wide range of activities and attractions, including:
Cultural Music: Enjoy captivating dances, music, and performances showcasing the beauty and diversity of Hispanic cultures.
Art Exhibits: Explore stunning artwork created by our talented students that reflect Hispanic heritage.
Food Tasting: Savor delicious Hispanic cuisine from different regions.
Educational Displays: Learn about the history, traditions, and influential figures from Hispanic and Latino communities.
Community Engagement: Connect with fellow parents, teachers, and students who share an interest in Hispanic culture.

Parent House Party Orientation Oct. 12 (Date Change)
Mark your calendars for October 12th. Parents! This orientation is for you and we are starting at 5:00 pm. Parents come out to support your scholar, learn all about your house origins, chants, hand symbols & more. There will be performances from the PLA 4th & 5th graders of each house, get ready for a night to remember.
Update Emergency Contact Infinite Campus
We ask that all parents or guardians who have not listed an emergency contact to update their emergency contact list to include one person who is not the parent/guardian. If the parent or guardian is not accessible due to an emergency, it is important that the school has an approved person to contact regarding your student.

STEM MOBILE LEARNING LAB KSU
STEM mobile learning lab with Kennesaw State University came to our school Thursday & Friday. 5th Grade scholars experienced interactive lessons about circuits and electromagnets. Scholars were able to create a circuit using a battery, wires, lightbulb. They were able to create an electromagnet using a battery, coil wire and a nail.

Volunteer: We want you!
As we begin to create volunteer opportunities for families and the community, please be reminded the Governor's Office requires all volunteers working directly with students must complete the Volunteer Registration Process. This is the public site for volunteer registration. Contact your classroom teacher for volunteer opportunities and be on the look out for schoolwide opportunities like field day and other school events.
