ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL - August 12th, 2022
*DEDICATION*GROWTH*COMMUNITY*
Message from the Principal
Dear Knights,
I hope you were able to join a club that interested you during the club sign up this week. Teachers are excited to bring these clubs to life. Next week, mid quarter progress reports will be posted. Make sure you have made up any missing assignments and have communicated with your teachers as needed. Please complete this form that StuCo put together to gather input from all students regarding spirit themes. I was recently speaking with a student and he advised me of the new Chandler Flex program which offers free rides to students both to and from school. For more information, visit here.
Parents - Students MUST be picked up no later than 3:00pm if they are not staying for an extracurricular activity. We do not have adequate supervision after school that allows for students to be on campus without being in an approved and supervised activity.
Support our Booster Club - They are running the restaurant fundraiser on 08/23/2022 with Lou Malnati's Pizzeria at all 3 locations. You just need to give ACP Middle School's name when ordering for us to get proceeds from the sales.

Opportunities
2022-2023 American Essay Contest (attached below is the form to complete if taking part):
The ambition and goal of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Americanism Program is to raise the spirit of American patriotism and to increase an awareness — a genuine feeling of pride and respect toward patriotism. Therefore, Chandler Elks Lodge #2429 would like to provide a special opportunity for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade teachers and students to participate in our Annual Americanism Essay Contest. This year’s theme is “What is Your American Dream?”
New this year, there are four divisions (not two) for judging essays:
- Division 1 (fifth grade)
- Division 2 (sixth grade).
- Division 3 (seventh grade)
- Division 4 (eighth grade)
The local lodge will select a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winner from each Division. Local lodge essay winners and sponsoring teachers will receive an invitation to an Awards Dinner in their honor at the Chandler Elks Lodge in late May 2023. Each winner will also receive an award certificate and a gift certificate.
Local winning essays will be also forwarded on to District, State and National competitions respectively. Awards and/or plaques will be awarded at each level. National Winners will be announced at the Grand Lodge Session in July 2023. National Winners will receive monetary awards of 1st Place: $1,000, 2nd Place: $500 and 3rd Place: $250.
I have attached the 2022/2023 Americanism Essay Contest Cover Sheet and Essay Flyer for your convenience. Thanks for encouraging your students to get involved! PLEASE MAKE A TAX CREDIT DONATION TO ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL
Arizona tax law allows individual taxpayers to claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in AZ for support of eligible activities and programs.
At the junior high level, the school office is unable to reallocate / redirect funds without parent and district approval. Be sure to select the specific fee for the activity where you want your payment applied. Sports fees are assigned quarterly and club fees are assigned once established.
When paying fees online (band/ orchestra, club or athletics fees, etc.), please consider making an additional contribution to our general fund in December to reach the maximum credit allowable.
http://az01001175.schoolwires.net/page/1131
Once you have paid all outstanding fees for ACP Middle School or if you have a family member that resides in AZ, please consider making an additional tax credit contribution to ACP's general fund before December 31st. If you are able to make your tax contributions prior to the end of the calendar year, your donation would be greatly appreciated. It will help give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50,000.00 this school year and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and ACP Middle School!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
