A Note About Morning Drop-Off
If you bring your child to school after 8:15 am, you must walk your child into the office and sign them in.
Scholar of the Month Nominations
The following scholars were nominated for Scholar of the Month:

Kindergarten Nominations:
* Ms. Kilgore nominated Jeremy Cortez and had this to say about the scholar, "Jeremy is awesome! He is always ready to learn by sitting quietly, at his seat or on his carpet square. He rocks 4 check in the hallway every time. Jeremy is always excited to learn and try new challenges. My favorite part about Jeremy is how helpful he is to his classmates with academics, and social emotionally."
* Mr. Stock nominated Abel Joseph and had this to say about the scholar, "Able Joseph truly deserves the recognition as the Student of the Month. His unwavering dedication to academic excellence, coupled with his exceptional work ethic, sets him apart as an exemplary student. Able consistently goes above and beyond in his studies, demonstrating a genuine passion for learning and a thirst for knowledge. His positive attitude and willingness to help others create a supportive and uplifting atmosphere within the student body. Able is not only a high-achiever academically but also a role model for his peers, embodying qualities of leadership, responsibility, and kindness. His contributions to the school community make him a standout candidate for the Student of the Month, reflecting his commitment to both personal and collective growth."
First Grade Nominations:
* Ms. Wilson nominated David Mesidor and said the following about this scholar, "David has shown a lot of improvement in his reading and math groups. He works hard, tries his best, and is friendly to his teacher and peers."
* Ms. Spychalski nominated Genesis Caceres and said the following about this scholar, "Always doing the right thing, working hard and being a great helper to others."
* Ms. Dalton nominated DeAndre Frankin and said this about the scholar, "He has been trying very hard in class to learn the basics for first grade. He has a tutor at home and also takes extra work home from school to practice. I am very proud of his efforts."
* Ms. Teroba nominated Amari Flagg and had this to say about the scholar, "Student cares for others, hardworking, pushes herself to exceed in school and has a great attitude."
Second Grade Nominations:
*Ms. Williams nominated Justin Stewart and had this to say about the scholar, "We are selecting Justin Stewart as student of the month for following classroom routines with no reminders. Justin works hard to show his best work each day in all content areas."
*Ms. Drew nominated Jah' Vaeh King and had this to say about the scholar, "Jah' Vaeh goes above and beyond in class, participates in each lesson. She also is kind to other students, and welcomed both of our new scholars with open arms while she demonstrated classroom expectations."
Third Grade Nominations:
*Ms. Louissaint nominated Linsi Ramirez and had this to say about the scholar, "She is an exemplary student. Her behavior is constantly good. She completes all of her assignments with excellence!"
Fourth Grade Nominations:
*Ms. Friedly nominated Alayla Lynch and had this to say about the scholar, "Alayla works extremely hard on all assignments. She participates throughout lessons and helps others in her class."
*Ms. Egan nominated Griselda Tello Tello and had this to say about the scholar, "Griselda is a student who is always putting in her best effort. She never gives up when things get hard and encourages her classmates when they are feeling down. She is kind and helpful and puts a smile on everyone's face."
* Ms. Hesser nominated Lian Velasquez-Sarmiento and had this to say about the scholar, "Lian continues to work daily on following our school's motto. He works hard in all academic areas and asks questions any time he needs help. Lian is a great 4th grade role model when it comes to walking quietly in the hall, showing respect to the other classes learning around him. He continues to be a great friend and looking out for those who need another voice."
Fifth Grade Nominations
* Ms. Minnix nominated Aleiyah Williams Mallard and had this to say about the scholar, "Always volunteers to read first and helps others."
* Ms. Stevenson nominated Aylin Ramon Hernandez and had this to say about the scholar, "She is very helpful when I need to communicate with my Spanish speaking students and she is a focused student who wants to grow and learn. She tries to be a better person than the day before."
Sixth Grade Nominations
* Ms. Asogbon nominated Desirae Adams and had this to say about the scholar, "Despite encountering various personal challenges, this young woman maintains a positive outlook on life. Throughout this period, Desirae has maintained her academics, making honor roll for the most recent quarter of grades."
* Ms. Hollowell nominated Damaris Organista Ramirez and had this to say about the scholar, "Damaris is a hard working young lady. She is always willing to help her peers and has improved in both math and reading."
* Ms. Dominguez nominated Urd-Line Fortune and had this to say about the scholar, "Urd-Line is a sweet and gentle young woman who gives her all to her everyday tasks. Her progress in math and reading continues to improve."
Free Tutoring Opportunity
Educational Tutorial Services is providing free tutorial services in conjunction with
IndianaLearns.org for youth in grades 3rd through 8th. We provide a statewide, virtual program in
Math and Reading, with unlimited hours through June 30th 2023. Youth must be on free or
reduced lunches, reside in Indiana, attend an accredited Indiana school and performed below
proficiency in Math or Language Arts on the ILEARN test during the 2023 school year.

We will dismiss at 11:20 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Please plan accordingly.
Important Assessments COMING SOON!
Statewide Standardized Testing COMING SOON!
Please see below for the dates of our statewide IREAD and ILEARN testing. On-time attendance is very important during these assessments so that your scholar can be present to do their personal best on the test. Scholars who are tardy and/or absent will have to make up the test. You can help your scholar do their best on IREAD and ILEARN by:
* ensuring they get a good night's sleep
* providing breakfast at home or having them at school in time to eat breakfast in our cafeteria
* ensuring your scholar arrives at school between 7:20am-7:45am
Car Rider and Walker Dismissal
Attention Parents & Guardians
If your child is a car rider, please get in the car rider line, stay in your car, and give your car rider number to the staff member on the corner.
If your child is a walker, they will be dismissed with walkers.
If your child is a car rider, but you opt to walk to school to walk them home, please call the office before 1:30pm (317-226-4103) to change the way your scholar is expected to go home that day. Otherwise, they will not be called until walkers are dismissed.

After-School Meal Program
- Open to ALL youth 18 and under, they must be present and eat the meal on-site.
- Available Monday - Friday.
