The Good News
Saint John XXIII March 21, 2019
The wisdom of kids can brighten our days like the rays of sun we were blessed to wake to this morning. One of our Kinders this morning shared with pure glee, “Mrs. Boehm, I am so happy God made it Springtime today!” Moments later, she bounded into one of the great lakes that surround our playground at this time. It is a beautiful thing to be able to watch kids in puddles and so often, our instincts as adults is to shoo them out. However, as we well know from being kids ourselves, there is much JOY and tremendous learning of cause and effect when playing in puddles. Inquiry and discovery in action! There is also the problem solving of how do I not get wet? Don’t go in the water is one alternative...Water=wet, pretty solid equation. However, there is also the balance and gross motor practice of avoiding the puddles by strategically navigating the playground or stepping carefully on melting ice. Either way, beautiful learning opportunities are being explored. So, thank-you parents for sending the extra socks and pants during this season. They are being put to good use.
As Quinlee shared with me today, “God made spring because He wanted us to be happy when we splash in the puddles!”
The beauty of Spring is a gift for us all and a glimpse into the JOY and HOPE of God’s everlasting love! Thanks SJ kids for the reminder!
Please wash and return any borrowed school clothes. Thank-you.
