Final Summative Assessment Conferences
Final Summative Assessment Conferences are just around the corner, so please take a moment to review this information. If you have any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to come see me or Ashley.
All observation cycles must be completed prior to scheduling your Final Summative Assessment Conference. Please be sure to see Joan/Angel ASAP to schedule any remaining formal observation cycles and/or your Final Summative Assessment Conference.
During your Final Summative Assessment Conference we will discuss the updated Effectiveness Rubric in Google and discuss the final outcome and reflection of your SLO goal.
As a reminder, you will be evaluated on your reflection of your impact on the learning and achievement of our students, not on the percentage of students who meet the goal. Therefore, the reflection piece of the SLO Goal is essential to our discussion in order to determine a final rating. Please come prepared to discuss these questions:
- To what extent did your students meet the learning goal? Please bring data to help guide this conversation.
- Did the instructional practices you used result in equitable learning experiences for all students?
- How will this learning process inform your teaching practices going forward?

Do you have a special talent?
We will be having a short assembly next Thursday (April 4th) in preparation for our multicultural festival in the evening. We were hoping to get a few teachers to share a talent (music, juggling, a joke, magic trick, etc.) and 2 teachers to volunteer to talk about there heritage (2 minutes). We know the kids would love to see their teachers participate!
Please let Kristen Howell (kristenhowell@gmail.com) or Winnie Chang (winnieychang@gmail.com) know if you can help.
Thank you!
If you plan to attend the PTO Auction please read this message from Stacy Johnson.
We need teachers to register so we know how many are coming so we can plan on food. If teachers don’t want to bid or buy anything, they can signup at https://cottonwoodcreek.ptapal.com/auction_staff.asp, where they don’t have to enter a credit card. (Right now, staff only is free. If they bring a spouse, they have to pay for them)
If teachers are going to bid during online or signup for parties or bid at The Live Event, then they should register at https://cottonwoodcreek.ptapal.com/auction_cart.asp and enter promo code STAFF2019 to get their free ticket.
Thanks!
Thanks!
In support of World Autism Awareness Day, I encourage everyone to wear blue...even blue jeans on Tuesday, April 2nd!
Message from Scott Rogers....
Mark your calendars! Thursday, April 11th at 12:15, weather permitting, Cottonwood Creek will launch a weather balloon into near space! We will gather in the ball field at 12:00 to view the launch. I realize this is in the middle of recess and lunch for some classes. The time of the launch is set by the district. It will only take a few minutes until our balloon is out of sight and we can continue our day as scheduled. Look for additional links to track the balloon progress live.
See me if you have questions. It is a fun event for the school!
Scott
Printing Inventory
On Monday, May 13th, the district will be at COT to conduct a detailed inventory of all printing devices, including Xerox devices, desktop printers, fax machines and any other miscellaneous printers (wide format, 3D, etc.). This process will require a walk-through of every room. They are doing this at every school. The walk-through will be conducted by a small team from Lewan and a representative from Fiscal Services.
Yearbook Photos Needed
Do you have photos that would be great for the yearbook? If so, please share them with Caren Berger through Indiana,10 one of the ways below.
