The Isabel Factor, Gayle Friesen

Friendship Fails, Comes Together Again

Anna and Zoe are going to summer camp this year as CITs. But then Zoe breaks her arm during a dare by her aunt’s neighbor and cannot go to summer camp. It would be Anna’s first summer going alone to camp and facing some girls she does not know. When she gets to summer camp she is in a cabin with Jennifer, Charmaine, Mags, Benita and Isabel. Jennifer their cabin leader tells her to make sure Isabel is on time and so they can beat one of the other cabins Arlene. Anna becomes more close to Isabel but then Zoe comes to camp because her arm was not that injured. Zoe and Anna’s friendship is getting ruin by Anna and Isabel’s relationship. Anna then is getting advice from the swim instructor Karim, who she thinks hates her but was trying to be nice to Anna. Anna then realizes that and she tries to make everything right again but Zoe did not care. In the end, she sees Zoe crying and then she tries to make sure everything goes how it was supposed to. After that, Anna, Isabel and Zoe are friends.

Friendships Last Long

I think this song fits into the book's message because it talks about saying that in less their in trouble they can get help from their friend. Even they can get help when they have more than one friend they can still be together and be friends. In the book, Anna and Zoe are best friends but Anna starts to hang out with Isabel which makes Zoe jealous but in the end Anna and Zoe talk and then they become friends.

"You've Got a Friend" - James Taylor - (8-track tape) by scottrek43

Lyrics

When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand
and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there
to brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there, yeah, yeah,
you've got a friend.

If the sky above you should turn dark and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow,
keep your head together and call my name out loud.
Soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend? People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you. Well, they'll take your soul if you let them,
oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call, Lord, I'll be there, yeah, yeah,
you've got a friend. You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend. Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Oh, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend.
