Golden Lions!
South Milwaukee Character Traits: Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Honesty, Perseverance
Lakeview expectations: Be safe, Be respectful, Be engaged.
Whenever a staff member sees a student showing one of these, the staff member has the option of awarding the student a "Golden Lion". Behavior and student character at Lakeview is excellent on a daily basis, so I'm sure we could award Golden Lions constantly. But officially, 136 Golden Lions were awarded since September 25th when we started the program (32 school days ago).
When a student receives a Golden Lion, their picture is taken and posted near the office with their certificate for everyone to see. On Friday, November 9th, we held an assembly and returned all 136 tickets to students to take home. And now, we begin collecting a new collection of Golden Lions. Keep up the good work!

Achievement Gap Reduction Goals
Many of you know Ms. Swick. Ms. Swick has been a fantastic educator at Lakeview for many years. She is still here at Lakeview as our instructional coach. This means that Ms. Swick gets to impact the lives of all of our students by coaching our teachers to make consistent improvements to their already excellent daily teaching practice.
This week, the School Board of South Milwaukee officially approved our AGR goals for this year. The goals include working with 5K students on pre- and beginning literacy skills, working with 1st grade students on spelling, and closing the gap-to-proficiency in both reading and math in 2nd through 5th grades. Thank you to our school board for continuing to support our AGR program at Lakeview!
