Principal Post
District 13 is constantly monitoring student and staff health, especially now regarding the COVID-19, and follows the County Health Department's recommendations and guidelines. Please see the attached letter below from Dr. Bartelt about COVID-19 and pay attention to the district's website, www.sd13.org, for updated information.
Fifth grade students will take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) on Monday, April 6th through Wednesday, April 8th. Please refer to the following parent letter for additional information about the ISA test. Click this link https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Search-Results.aspx?k=ISA for further information about this science assessment.
The Illinois Readiness Assessment (IAR) testing is coming for grades 3-5 in both reading and math beginning April 13th. Staff is working very hard to prepare the students for these assessments. Find the IAR parent letter here. More information about the exams can be found at https://www.isbe.net/Pages/IAR.aspx.
Student grouping and placement for the 2020-2021 school year takes place in late May. In preparation for this important task a Student Placement Information form is available on this link. This request form is due back to Mr. Dwyer by Thursday, April 9th. Although a request form is not required, parent input about a childās academic experiences can provide valuable insight to this process. Please remember that considerations for placing students in classes include but are not limited to class size, gender ratio, academic levels, student learning styles, specific student needs, diversity, and student peer relations. It is not recommended that a parent request a specific teacher due to the fact that requests are difficult to satisfy and teaching assignments can change from school year to school year. If you have questions about this form, please phone Mr. Mark Dwyer at 630-894-9200.
Thanks to the DuJardin PTO for sponsoring another awesome skating night at Coachlite last Thursday evening. There was a wonderful turnout by our students and parents and a great time was had by all who attended. Looking forward to our next skating night in the fall!
