HAWAII'S VOLCANOES
HAWAIIS VOLCANOES
Though Hawaii is part of the USA, it is a chain of islands located 3,200 km from the continental United States, out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Over there, it gets more precipitation during the winter months and drier conditions from May-September. It's always warm, and gets exreamly hot.
There's a lot of tropical vegetation that come from Hawaii. Mangos, coconutes, and other tropical fruit grow in Hawaii.
Volcanoes are mountines. But unlike most mountains in the world, formed from folding continental plates, uplift and erosion, volcanoes are created when material from inside the Earth escapes to the surface.
Climate change may increase volcanic eruptions, which makes them bigger and stronger. Problably destroy small towns.
There are currently 3 active volcanoes in Hawaii. On Hawaii Island you'll find Maunaloa and Kilauea in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Maunaloa last erupted in 1984 and Kilauea has been continuously erupting since 1983. Loihi is located underwater off the southern coast of Hawaii Island.
Hawaii is paradise on Earth. It is for people who want to catch some sun, surf on the sea. Hawaii is one of the most amazing places to spend your precious vacation.
Natural vegetation is not known to prevent volcanic erupions at all.
Hawaii'n villagers were able to find a way to protect themselfs against volcanic eruptions. They were able to make an artificial path for the flow of lava to flow away from the village.
Newly fallen volcanic ash may result in short-term physical and chemical changes in the water quality, increased wear on water-dilivery and tretment systems (for example, pumping stations), and high demand for water during cleanup operations by residents of comunities affected by ash fall. Historical eruptions generaly have caused few water-quality problems, and hazardous chemical changes have been reported in only a few cases.
Another country that deals with volcanic eruptions is Southern Italy. There response plan is for people to always look for sighs or warnings about volcanoes and to leave there homes if necessary. Hawaii and Italy does not have so much things simular.
