What if You Had Animal Feet?
I love this book! The author combines fantasy with fact to teach kids about different characteristics animals have all because of their feet!
- Use this Level Q book in guided reading or conduct a whole group read-aloud. Use this Quizziz for What if You Had Animal Feet? by Sandra Markle. (*Remember Quizziz is like Kahoot, but you can set it up for homework or independent activities. The Q&As will be displayed on student devices, not the teacher's board.)
- After reading the stories have students complete a Venn Diagram in Wixie for cheetah feet and wolf feet.
- Take the lines at the end of the book to spark an opinion writing piece and amazing art project opportunity (hands-on or digital).
"But if you could have wild animal feet for more than a day, which kind would be right for you?"
- In Science, create a class book to add on to the book by Sandra Markle. Allow students to choose a new animal and research their feet. Each group can write a new page for the book.
- If you love this book, then check out its companions, What if You Had Animal Teeth? and What if You Had Animal Ears?
Keyboarding Resources
With technology becoming a bigger piece in classroom instruction and with the onset of online testing, we need to provide our students with opportunities to practice proper keyboarding skills. I've placed a page of free keyboarding resources, titled "Online Keyboarding Resources", in our SAW Staff Information course. You can copy the page into your individual courses and assign for homework and/or centers. Also, check out the District Digital Product Guidelines for ideas to help incorporate technology and keyboarding practice into your grade level curriculum. Please let me know if you have questions or want to brainstorm ways to enact this in your classroom!
