Farewell!
And although we cannot replace him, we have already recommended a teacher to be hired to fill his position in the school. Until that staff member comes onboard, Mr. Johnson and the rest of the Exceptional Education team will be assisting students in Mr. Zachary's room to ensure every Blue Jay keeps growing.
Thank you, Mr. Johnson and EE team for helping out!
Good luck, Mr. Zachary, we will miss you!

The School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt is Now Recruiting
We are looking for 8th-grade students who wonder how things work, who like science experiments, coding and robotics, medicine or psychology, who look up at the sky and wonder about the stars and planets, or who like to tinker around with things and build. Mathematicians, science Olympiad enthusiasts and any other STEAM-curious students would also be great candidates.
If your students have these qualities, please encourage them to think about applying to the School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt. It’s a high school program for motivated students who are interested in STEM ideas and research.
Our website has all the information applicants need to learn all about the program and decide if they want to apply. You can sign up to receive more information and reminders about the application deadline – February 10, 2023.
Please help us spread the word about this opportunity to the students in your school who are qualified candidates. School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt
Boys Club Lacrosse
We are excited to offer another season of Outlaws Lacrosse (formerly JTM/WEMS)! We had a great season last year after a few years without playing and made it to the semi-finals of our conference! We have a partnership with a few MNPS schools: JT Moore, West End Middle School, Meigs, and MLK. We practice at West End Middle School on the football field or the small field right next to it. Please let me know if you would like to play this season.
- Fees: $220 per player.
- Do not let fees deter you from playing! We have a lot of donated gear. We will not turn away any player due to costs.
- If possible, players need to have their own equipment except for a helmet - we provide helmets.
- Here is a guide for what equipment to have: https://www.sportsunlimitedinc.com/how-to-buy-a-lacrosse-stick.html
- ALL players must register with USA Lacrosse ($30) and record their registration number. https://www.usalacrosse.com/
- Practice: Monday-Thursday 4:15-5:30 at West End MS: Starting Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
- Games: Mostly Tues/Thurs but some weekend games.
- Transportation to and from practice/games is required. Some games are as far as Nolensville.
- For safety/insurance reasons, I do not drive any students in my car.
- Parents/students will often carpool to help with transportation.
- JT Moore Club Form MUST be submitted.
- Payment and registration will be through a WEMS sports website.
- Any level of experience welcome, grades 5-8. Most students start playing in middle school.
- Club Website: tinyurl.com/outlawslacrosse
We are partnered with the Hillsboro High School team as their feeder program. They won the state championship in 2021 and were runners up this year. Hillsboro players volunteer their time to help coach and mentor our players. It is a great relationship for everyone involved.

School fines for student laptop replacement
If your computer is damaged and it is determined that a fine is appropriate, then you could pay these fines through the portal below.
Parents can create an account by visiting the SchoolCash Online webpage on the MNPS website. They can then attach their student(s) to their profile.
https://sfo.schoolcash.net/NashvilleTN is the website.

Schoology Access Codes for Parents
Student assignments and activities are posted in our Learning Management System, Schoology. All parents and Guardians can access their student's data by setting up a parent account. All you need is your individual code. Please e-mail James.Stephensiii@mnps.org from your registered e-mail account and he will reply with your Schoology Access code. Since it's long and burdensome to type in, this cut and paste method is much easier to manage.
Campus Portal for Parents
Parents and Guardians can also access The Campus Portal for Infinite Campus as well. Campus is our Student Management System that has attendance, schedules, assessment, contact information, behavior logs and more. Just like with Schoology, you have an individual Parent code. Please e-mail James.Stephensiii@mnps.org from your registered e-mail account and he will reply with your Schoology Access code.
Check out Campus Portal information on this link: Campus Portal.
