Talk with your Child about the Dangers of Vaping
According to the American Heart Association, “Over 5 million teens use e-cigarettes – more than double the number two years ago. At least one out of every four high-school students is vaping. And kids across the country are becoming addicted to nicotine.”
Studies have shown that vaping in adolescents has been linked to poor sleep quality, poor learning and academic performance, increased aggression and impulsive behavior, impaired memory and increased depression. In addition to the physical damage vaping can cause, it can also make it difficult for a student to accomplish their goals.
Need help starting the conversation with your student? Check out the CDC’s tip sheet which can help you talk to your child about the dangers and health risks of vaping.
