There will be a parent meeting to complete the concussion/MRSA contracts for all athletes trying out for baseball on Thursday, March 17 at 6:00 pm in the library. Students must have these forms completed before the day of tryouts in order to participate. Parents and athletes must attend if they have not already attended a previous meeting.

Boys Soccer and Volleyball play at North Woods Park Middle School on March 8th. Start time is 4:00.

Volleyball also plays against Swansboro Middle at home on March 10th at 4:00.

The soccer game which was scheduled for March 10 has been rescheduled to March 21 due to a conflict at RHS. Start time is 4:00

Battle of the Books

The following students will be competing in the Onslow County Battle of the Books competition on Monday, March 7th at Southwest High School: Sami Anthony, Emma Edwards, Corin Nosow, Annabel Rocha, J. T. Sandlin, Azel Solomon, Ariel Swinson, and Evan Trim. They have spent many hours reading from a list of 27 books and practicing together as a team and will be competing Monday against all other Onslow County middle school teams.

Registration

It’s hard to believe that we will be starting the high school registration process shortly. On Monday, March 7th 8th grade students will be receiving a flyer regarding upcoming high school registration activities for their respective high schools. If you have any questions about the high school your child will attend, please contact Trexler Middle School data manager Amy Rowntree at 910.324.4414.


Registration activities will be as follows:

· March 15th - Representatives from Richlands High School and Southwest High School will be at Trexler Middle for a presentation beginning at 1pm. Students will receive information about high school graduation requirements and receive registration materials. Parents are welcome to attend this session. You will need to sign in at the front office.

· March 16th -Richlands High School and Southwest High School will host a Parent Night on their campuses at 6pm.

· March 23rd –Registration forms need to be returned to TMS school counselor Amanda West.


Please note: Students not attending Richlands High School or Southwest High School will receive information on their respective schools on Monday, March 7th.

Looking Ahead

Progress reports go out today 3/4/16

March 16 is an Early Release Day. Students will be released at 11:15.

March 17 is a PTO dance. Students must be picked up by 4:30. Admission is $6.00 and concessions will be sold.

March 17 is AVID/TMS Parent Night for students that will be in 6th grade at TMS next year. This will be at Richlands Elementary School starting at 6:00.
