From the English Department

Ms. Antonelli's 10 Honors class is reading The Great Gatsby. During their study they did research on all aspects of the decade. The final leg of their mini research was to throw a 1920's themed party. They were responsible for costume, food, beverage, games, decor and favors. The class worked together to plan everything out. They did an AWESOME job transforming the classroom!

From Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science

Detective Lieutenant John Grassel from the Rhode Island State Police accepted an invitation from the Scituate High School Science Department's BioMedical Pathways Program (Human Body Systems) and shared a captivating presentation about the applications of chemistry, physics and anatomy to his work as lead investigator in the Forensics Unit. Students were shown actual cases highlighting the science behind the collection and interpretation of evidence collected at crime scenes.

The Scituate High School Science Department will be developing a thematic unit using actual evidence to generate a series of lessons addressing the use of chemistry, physics, biology and anatomy in order to solve a case. These lessons will be made available to the Rhode Island State Police so they can share them with other educators around the state.

Students in the NEED club are preparing a series of activities that they plan to take on the road to the elementary schools later this year. As part of their preparation, they are learning some CAD and creating 3D printed models to use in their activities.
