Quality Assurance Online Training-Free with Coupon!
Quality Assurance (QA) training is required for all 4-H members (4-H ages 8 and older) who will show beef, swine, goats, sheep, dairy, poultry, or meat rabbit at the county fair. 4-H members in Blaine, Hooker, Grant, and Thomas counties need a QA certificate by June 10th to show at the livestock show, thus avoiding a late fee.
Good news! 4-H families showing in Blaine, Hooker, Grant, or Thomas counties can call the Extension Office in Thedford to receive a FREE coupon for the online Quality Assurance training.
We encourage 4-H members (not Clover Kids) to call the Extension Office for their free coupon ($12.00 value). The coupon will be good at the Youth Quality Care of Animals website (http://yqca.org). 4-H members will complete their level and send a copy of their certificate to the Extension Office. Call 308-645-2267 for more information.

Going Green with 4-H
Have a fun day learning about various 4-H projects. We will start with Entomologist Mike Eskelson from Ogallala who will assist 4-Hers with building an Insect House and taking pictures of a Tarantula, which can be entered at fair. 4-H’ers are asked to bring a wood structure or box at least 4 inches thick to make into an insect house. For ideas, go onto Pinterest and search for “Insect Houses”.
We will go through the new food project manuals and make snacks and smoothies. 4-H’ers will also need to bring a sack lunch.
In the afternoon we will learn how to create the design you want on a tie-dyed t-shirt that can be modeled and entered in Beyond the Needle in the County Style Show. We will also have a surprise project.
Please register early so we make sure we have enough materials.
Cost for this workshop is $20.00
Hooker County May 17th @ the fairgrounds
Thomas County May 23rd@ the fairgrounds
Blaine County is being rescheduled, we will get that date out next week.
If there is enough interest there will be a workshop scheduled in Grant County also.
