Sock Hop Success! Thanks, PTC!

Thanks to the chair of the event, Kelly Moreno-Hernandez, and all of the volunteers who coordinated, decorated, and planned the Daddy/Daughter Sock Hop. It was a lovely, well-attended event! We hope all the young ladies and their chaperones enjoyed themselves.

Donate Your Used Magazines and Other Items!

If you have any wildlife, travel, garden or home decor magazines, VAPA teacher Gail Cohen in Room 13 could really use the donations! Drop them off in the office or at Room 13 before or after school, or during student's VAPA time.

VAPA is always accepting other donations of baby wipes, TP/Paper towel rolls, clean sour cream or cottage cheese containers, new sharpies, crafty supplies like buttons, sequins, beads, Q-tips, pipe cleaners, felt, material, and yarn. Also, if there is a parent who does woodworking and has odd scrap pieces that could be used for sculpture, please contact Miss Nash. Thank you in advance for your generosity and continued support of the arts!

Gifts from the Garden

Mrs. Maloney's 2/3 combo class along with Ms. Smith's 6th grade class had big garden tasting, and they still had so many huge cabbages, broccoli, and cauliflower left over, that they shared the bounty with staff on Friday. The beautiful, organic vegetables became coleslaw, salads, and more! Thank you to the families, staff and students who continue to support our garden initiative and make delicious treats for us all!

Did you know... Miss Nash Recycles and So Can YOU!

Our VAPA teacher, Miss Nash, is collecting old, used, dried, broken, or unwanted markers and crayons for recycling. At the end of the school year, garbage cans fill up with these items and WE have found a way to recycle and repurpose them. Crayola collects and melts down the markers to make fuel, and other products.

The Crayon Initiative collects old crayons and melts them down to create new crayons for donations to hospitals and other children’s programs. Both programs are free for us to recycle and Miss Nash will collect and send them off. If you have any of these items throughout the year or are cleaning out the house, please consider recycling them. Students can bring these items to the VAPA room (RM 13) before or after school, or during their VAPA time. There is also a red box under the staff mailboxes in the office for drop off.

Help us install our tiles!

We are seeking the help of a licensed contractor who feels confident or has experience in installing ceramic tiles on the concrete surrounding our amphitheater. If this sounds like you or a friend, and you are willing and able to donate your services or help us for a very low fee, please reach out to us here at Sunset Ranch. We have years of tiles that students and families designed and we need to get displayed!
