Tonight from 3-9 pm: Pinky's Pizza Restaurant Night at 3990 N Interstate.

Pinky's Pizza will donate a percentage of the night's sales to BCU. Visit from 3-9 pm or order online for a percentage to be donated to BCU. Please thank this generous local business for supporting Beach School!

GARDEN UPDATE 🌹🍁🌲🌿🌱🌷


Rhiannon Leonard is the interim garden coordinator this year! She is teaching a few garden classes during school, maintaining garden beds weekly, & leading after school garden club twice a week. This position is 10-12 hours per week, paid for by the SUN program. Connect with Rhiannon if you would like support or garden integration this year rhiannon.leonard@gmail.com. PS She is a visual artist who specializes in botanical illustration, so invite her to draw with your class.



NEW: There is a shared garden drive to store all things garden related: garden introduction, shed code, maps, garden journal, photos, & activities. Miss Anise, the new SUN site director at Beach, will be the keeper and administrator of these documents. Please reach out if you need permissions, etc. aniseh@selfenhancement.org

Fall Activities:

HARVEST GUESSING GAME - How many beans are in my pod?

I AM A SEED - Kids grow from a seed to a bean plant when they get water and sun sprinkled on them.

BEAN PLANT ANATOMY - quick drawings included *roots *stems *leaves *flowers *seeds *fruit.

TEA - after school GARDEN CLUB’s tea tradition includes harvesting herbs in the garden. Herbs include: mint, rosemary, sage, lavender, pineapple sage flower, & nootka rose hips.


We look forward to BIPOC community engagement and will keep you posted when we have community members of color leading outdoor experiences.
