Veterans Day

Join us for a Veterans Day Convocation on November 11th. A Veterans reception starts at 12:pm and the assembly begins at 1:00pm in the HS gymnasium. Join us as we recognize you and thank you for your service to our country.

Fall Play

Please join us for this year's fall play! The drama club will present "Nothing But The Truth" on the elementary school stage this Friday at 7:00 pm and this Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $5.00 per person. This is a fast-paced drama set on an ocean liner set around the same time as the Titanic. Full of hilarious misleading clues, love triangles, and mistaken identities, this entertaining, lighthearted tale of spies and espionage will peak your curiosity and tickle your funny bone!

Senior Halloween

Every year around Halloween the senior class gets the opportunity to dress up in costume all day at school. They carry around donation buckets for people to give them cash/change to then donate to Riley Children's Hospital. This year they raised around $400.

1st - Olivia Chandler as SWAT officers with $48.66

2nd - Elisa Clark as Guy Fieri with $44.70

3rd - Kennedy Pile as Lola Bunny with $38.73

Honorable Mention - Scooby Gang with combined total of $71.64

JH Halloween Dance

On Saturday, October 30, Sunshine Society Hosted a JH dance in the HS cafeteria. From not having a dance last year, to this event... the JH students enjoyed it. There was constant dancing and smiles. Brooklynn Creek (8) won best costume as a clown.

Preschool joined the first grade classes on a field trip to Apple Works!

Movie Night

SADD wrapped up Red Ribbon Week with a movie night. We watched Hocus Pocus and collected money & supplies for the the Shelby County Animal Shelter.

Congrats Mr. Juniper

Mr. Juniper was sworn in on Wednesday, October 27 as a Lieutenant with the Army National Guard Chaplain Corps. He is now a Chaplain Candidate, completing training as he pursues a career as a full Army Chaplain.

The yearbook staff are thrilled to share…. the cover illustration for our 2021-2022 yearbook! It’s original artwork by alumni Kristen Taylor, who was in the yearbook program for 3 years while at SWHS. Our theme for this year is “Remember When” and the book will feature original student sketches throughout.

Now Enrolling Out of District Transfer Students for the 2021-2022 School Year

Southwestern Consolidated School District of Shelby County is now accepting Out of District Transfer Request forms to enroll students who do not reside in our school district for the 2021-2022 school year. Current enrolled students who do not reside within our school district are required to complete the Out of District Transfer Request form every year. Spartan Cupboard Food Pantry

The Spartan Cupboard will be open the first and third Wednesdays of the month. The pantry will follow SW's inclement weather schedule. If school is canceled due to inclement weather, the pantry will be closed.

Southwestern Consolidated School District is grateful to be able to provide our community with a food pantry on campus, Spartan Cupboard. During your first visit, you will need to bring proof of residency, no income required. The Spartan Cupboard is open the first and third Wednesday of every month between 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM located in Southwestern Junior - Senior High School. Patrons can choose from a variety of food items such as the following:

  • Canned Food Items (vegetables, fruits, soups, beans, ravioli, tuna, chicken, etc.)
  • Breakfast Items (oatmeal, cereals, pancake mix, and syrup)
  • Boxed Food Items (macaroni & cheese, ramen noodles, pastas, beef stroganoff, rice, etc.)
  • Personal Care Items (toilet paper, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste)
  • Fresh & Frozen Food items (milk, eggs, cheese, bread, and a variety of meats)

  • Login with your account or select guest sign-in
  • Search and select Southwestern Consolidated Schools then select "save"
  • Once redirected to a screen for The Spartan Cupboard, click the shopping bag for Spartan Cupboard Donation
  • Choose a school (all funds go into the same account so choosing either is fine)
  • Enter the amount you would like to donate
  • Add to cart
  • Fill in payment information
  • Click "Submit Order"

Safety is one of our district's top priorities and to help safeguard our school community, we've taken an important step that we want to share with you. Our district is now using SafeSchools Alert, a tip reporting service that allows students, staff, and parents to submit safety concerns to our administration four different ways:
