This week

This week we learned what our children like from food to toys. We also learned who is in our family. They drew a family portrait, which also practiced the handwriting stroke circle left. The children had the opportunity to present their family pictures and tell us all about what they like to do with their family.

Please take the time to point out shapes in your environment or in books. Also using scissors is very important and the children enjoy using them. Allow your child to practice by cutting pictures out of catalogs or magazines.

We enjoyed talking with everyone at Pastries with Parents. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

Next week

We will introduce "community helpers" next week. We will learn about the jobs that people do in our community. We will practice being a server at a restaurant in our kitchen area and a doctor in the dress up area and I am sure many more occupations during our play time. We will continue to work on shapes and fine motor skills. Next week will be our first cut and paste project. Start the conversation about community helpers with your child by talking about your occupation.
