Staff Mode of Dress
Please make sure you are maintaining a high standard of dress, appropriate for your assignment, and in accordance with the following guidelines:
- Hosiery (for females) will be optional.
- Facial hair (beard, mustache or goatee) must be well groomed.
- Tattoos that are distracting in the learning environment will be covered at all times.
- Body piercings (except for earrings for females) should not be visible.
- Outer garments will fit properly (not tight fitting) and be of an acceptable length.
- Undergarments must not be visible.
- Professional footwear does not include flip flops, slippers, shower shoes, house shoes, or “Crocs.”
- Sweatpants, wind pants, warm-ups, leggings, cargo style, low-rise, spandex or similar tight pants are not permitted (with the exception for coaches noted below).
- Athletic wear is permitted during PE or athletic classes.
- Coaches are to be in neat athletic attire while in the regular classroom.
- Blouses, sweaters, and shirts must cover the midriff and lower back, including while reaching or bending.
- Halters, bare backs, tank tops, spaghetti straps, muscle shirts, see-through garments, revealing or provocative necklines are not permitted.
- Shirt and tops that are not made to be worn out (shirts or tops with a long tail) should be tucked in, unless worn as a jacket.
- Jeans, of any color, are only permitted when approved by the campus principal and/or department supervisor.
- Capri pants, loosely fitted on the leg, and no shorter than mid-calf are permissible. 80

Staff, please remember to Raptor in and out as you come into the building and leave for any reason. If you are running late or are not coming in due to an emergency, let your supervisor know via text or phone call so that we can ensure students do not go unsupervised in your absence.

Shout out to Ms. Espinoza for being our Mighty Cub of the Week! Ms. Espinoza always goes above and beyond with anything dealing with the AVID program and you help keep AVID on point.

Content Feature - Science
Science department is rocking with a wide range of hands-on, creative, fun learning activities. Students are using science resources, technology and various SIOP strategies to enhance and show their learning. 6th grade is working on Cells - differentiating between types of cells, and the classification of living organisms into Domains and Kingdoms. 7th grade is investigating the diversity of living organisms and how they adapt to their environment. They are identifying and creating new species of critters that can adapt to new environments. 8th grade is studying the Universe and its components - stars, nebulae and galaxies... after all the sky is the limit in science.
