Student Store Grand Opening!

December 3rd

We will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:15-2:45

We will be selling school supplies and spirit gear along with snacks, treats and beverages

Winter is Coming...

It’s hard to believe winter is upon us. Our first snow is right around the corner and it’s time to start preparing. Students will continue to go outside for recess almost every day, weather permitting. As the weather starts to get colder we remind students to layer before going outside. In order to stay healthy, students will need to be prepared and bring warm clothes to school including: jackets, hats, mittens and boots. Please inform our F.A.N. (Family Access Network) advocate if your child is in need of any of the above clothes items.

Purchase your yearbook!

Click the link below to order your yearbook. We have added a neat feature that allows each student to have a couple of customizable pages where they can add their own photos and memories from the year. This will make your child's book extra special.

Library News

The Library is selling OMS Christmas Ornaments this year. These ornaments will make great keepsakes for your Obsidian student. Ornaments will be sold in the Library for the month of December at $7 a piece. We only have 50 to sell, so get yours quickly.

If it is necessary to limit or block ala carte purchasing on your student’s account, just let us know by email or phone call. Just be aware that this will also limit or block their ability to purchase extra entrees or milk/juice.

Your Child Will Not be allowed at school

If they Do not have up-to-date or Complete

Immunizations

According to Oregon law, your 7th grade child is required to have one additional vaccine. An official medical or nonmedical exemption is also acceptable. Our records show that your child is in need of the following immunization:

Tdap Vaccine – 1 dose

Tdap is given to adolescents and adults 10-64 years old.

It is different from DTaP, which is given to children younger than 7 years old

Tdap offers adolescents and adults protection against three serious diseases: Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (whooping cough). Pertussis is a highly contagious, acute bacterial respiratory tract infection caused by the bacterium Bordetella pertussis.

If your child has not yet had the Tdap vaccine, contact your child’s doctor or call your county health department to make an appointment. It is important to get an early start on updating your child’s immunizations this fall. Please give all updated immunization information to the OMS office as soon as your child receives Tdap.

OMS Picks up Micro Trash

Mr. Grubb and Ms. Gordon's classes picked up over 800 pieces of micro trash last week! "When we sorted it out, it was mostly plastic food wrappers. We as a student body need to be better about making sure trash gets into the trash cans," said Mr. Grubb. Way to go Wolf Pack!
