Student & Parent Reminders
Spring is here! In the fall we reviewed a host of student and parent expectations to set the tone for a great year. Well, that was almost 6 months ago. Since we are all human and prone to forgetfulness, now is a great time to remind you of our nest expectations for the last 9 weeks!
Dress Code Reminders
If your child wears one of the items of below, we will offer them a piece of clothing to wear during the day that meets the dress code.
🛑Students may not wear crop tops. Stomachs and navels should be fully covered at all times.
🛑Students may not wear see through dresses, shirts, or pants.
🛑Shorts and dresses must be long enough to fully cover the student's bottom area completely. Boy-short underwear, volley-ball shorts, and mini jogger/tennis shorts do not cover the bottom area and should not be worn to school.
🛑Students may not wear clothing with guns, drugs, alcohol, vulgar language, profanity, nor indecent illustrations or messages.
🛑Students may not wear gang beads, bandanas, or gang related illustrations.
🛑Students may not wear spikes, chains, nor accessories that can be harmful to others as weapons.
🛑The current trend of wearing t-shirts as dresses is not appropriate for school.
🛑Hats and head coverings are not worn indoors. **Head coverings are allowed as an expression of religious beliefs (eg. hijabs or yarmulkes), medical needs, or celebratory cultural traditions (eg. geles).
We understand that you may be comfortable with some of these items; however, at school we honor the WCPSS Dress Code. If your child wears one of the items of above, we will offer them a piece of clothing to wear during the day that meets the dress code.
🛑Parents are also expected to meet the minimum student dress code when coming to campus. This means parents should not come to campus in visible undergarments, crop tops, sports bras, boy-short underwear, excessively tight or short clothing, nor clothing that promotes drugs, guns, or vulgar language/illustrations.
