El Salvador used to be controlled by Spain. They gained their independence in 1821, and they are still free today. They gained independence by signing a declaration of independence in 1821. The official language of El Salvador is Spanish.

The capital city of El Salvador is San Salvador. Four of El Salvador's major cities are Soyapango, Santa Ana, San Miguel and Mejicanos.

Tourist Information

People should visit El Salvador because there are great beaches there. There is also fresh sea food, hiking and archeological dig sites. Tourists should see the ruins of Tazumal, go to Lake Ilopango and the Teatro Nacional de El Salvador.
