Study Abroad: Spain 2017
Now that Study Abroad:Spain 2017 has come to an end and all students have presented their video projects, we are excited to share that one of our students is a prize winner! Anjika Pai is a senior at CB South and won 'Best in Stem' category through EF (Education First Student Tours). EF is the company who makes our travel arrangements and provides the free online platform for student projects so that they may share how travel has changed their perspective of the world.
Anjika competed against hundreds of other students nationwide and created a remarkable project in Spanish with English subtitles. CLICK HERE to view the video.
Anjika won a $75 Amazon gift card and may be granted a spot at EF's student conference in 2018.
Congratulations Anjika!

GOLF
Of the four CB South golfers that qualified for the District One Tournament, two CB South golfers will advance to the next level of competition. Senior Kevin Anthony and sophomore Lizzie Palmieri will attend the Eastern Regional Tournament on Monday, October 16th. Kevin Anthony shot one under par over 36 holes, finishing 7th out of the District One male golfers. Lizzie Palmieri shot 13 over par after 36 holes taking 5th place out of all the District One female golfers. Having two golfers make Regionals is a wonderful accomplishment. This was a pressure packed tournament and both Kevin and Lizzie handled the pressure with composure and skill.
GIRLS' SOCCER
The Lady Titans had two big conference wins this week. They defeated CB West on Friday, October 6 by a score of 4-0. Aleksa Peev led the scoring with two goals and two assists. Her first goal was set up by a pass from Brooke Steigerwalt and her second goal was an unassisted breakaway. The third goal was scored by junior Izzy Manzella with an assist by Aleksa Peev. The fourth goal was finished by Sophia Kane who buried a
rebound from the keeper.
The second league victory came against William Tennent on Tuesday, October 10th. The lone goal was scored by Brooke Steigerwalt following a feed from defender, Lauren Ewell. The defense played extremely well keeping the game scoreless with high pressure from Tennent in the second half. Keeper Maddie McShane had 8 saves with a critical diving save with minutes left to preserve the shutout.
GIRLS TENNIS
Congratulations to Mia Groetsch who represented CB South at the District One Singles Tennis Championships last weekend. Mia made it all the way to the quarter final round before losing to CB West.
Jen Bilker and Alexa Pereira along with Abby Caddick and Mia Groetsch qualified for the District One Doubles Championships. Jen and Alexa lost in the first round to a tough #1 ranked CB West team. Abby and Mia have advanced to the semi-finals. The tournament will conclude on Friday, October 13th.
FIELD HOCKEY
The field hockey team defeated Bensalem, 7-0 on Tuesday, October 10th and Coatesville, 3-0 on Wednesday, October 11th. The team's record is 10-5 with three regular season games to go. While the entire team has played well, captains Kasey Dietzel, Ally Fitts, and Megan Gillard have had exceptional games, leading the team to a possible playoff spot.
VOLLEYBALL
The girls' volleyball team has fought hard to go 1-1 so far this week. On Monday, October 9th, they welcomed Athletes Helping Athletes to their home match! They take on a tough CB West Team and would love the support of the entire student body!
FOOTBALL
Come out and support our 5-2 CB South Football team on Friday, October 13th at 7 PM at Titan’s Stadium as they face 5-2 CB West.

The defense allowed only 4 shots on goal with goalkeeper Gavin Campbell and defensive back four consisting of Corey Bethel, Tate Pfendner, Kyle Bethel and Drew Daley. The Titans honored seniors and their parents (Center Midfielder Casey Heilig, Defender Tate Pfendner, Forward Scott Song, and Midfielder Kyle Stone).
