"Light It Up Blue" in Alief on Thursday, April 1st
You probably already know that the blue puzzle piece is the symbol for Autism. Light It Up Blue takes place on April 2, 2021, around the world. This is the same day World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) is observed. Light It Up Blue is a campaign dedicated to raising awareness of autism which began in 2010 by the Autism Speaks non-profit organization.
Since April 2nd is a district Holiday, we encourage each campus to “Light It Up Blue” on Thursday, April 1st to show Alief’s awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of our students living with an autism spectrum disorder. Use the hashtag #LightItUpBlueAlief on your social media posts so we can all see how our campuses are showing their support.
Congratulations to Mrs. Nagy!
The District Teacher of the Year ceremony will take place in April 2021.
