Claudius Medical Report - Meeting 2
17-5-1407
Direct Quotes from King Claudius:
"O wretched state! O bosom black as death!
O limèd soul that, struggling to be free,
Art more engaged! Help, angels. Make assay.
Bow, stubborn knees, and, heart with strings of steel,
Be soft as sinews of the newborn babe."
I'm very concerned for my patient. He's far worse than he was in the previos session. Claudius feels terribly trapped in this awful predicament, and can't see any way out of it. Nothing he does is helping, he's only making matters worse for himself - beating himself up. It is interesting how with my both my patients (Hamlet and Claudius), when they are not able to accept the situations they find themselves in, they seem to only make matters worse by blaming themselves even more.
