Himlie Hello

August 28 Update

The positive emails and feedback that you have shared with me, our staff and our teachers is so appreciated! The first two live days were such a celebration! Thank you for supporting your students as they get started in this remote way.

Listening to your children's voices and laughter and seeing their smiles certainly doesn't replace the high fives and hugs I was hoping for on this first day of school, but I drove home with a happy heart.

Thank you for trusting us with the important task of teaching your children and for your patience as we fine-tune the details.

Dunn pride,

Abby Himlie

                  Second Step at Dunn

This month, our schoolwide theme is our school as a welcoming place where every student feels like he or she belongs. We’ll be reminding students to welcome others and act and speak in safe, respectful, and responsible ways.

We’ll also begin teaching the Second Step program, which includes lessons that support these behaviors.

Support your child at home in welcoming others and acting and speaking in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. Please tell your child’s teacher if you have questions about specific ways you can help your child with these behaviors at home.

It's a GREAT time to join Dunn's PTO!

                  • Any interested parents or caregivers can email us at dunnelementarypto@gmail.com
                  • We are a small group and have small intimate meetings (typically less than 10 people). Currently virtual meetings, of course!
                  • We primarily do dreaming, planning, connecting, monitoring event budgets, and approving teacher mini-grants.
                  • If someone is organized, passionate, and willing to make agendas, send emails, and keep apprised of Dunn happenings, any open position on the PTO Board would be a good fit for them. Currently seeking Co-treasurer, VP, President.
