NEWS and NOTES
ISTEP Part I begins this week! Schedule is attached. Please adhere to the following protocols during testing:
- Students are not to move in the hallway without an adult present. If a student needs to be removed from class, you MUST call the office. If a student is seen in the hallways from your class without supervision, we will have a conversation. Mr. Taylor is not to be called directly.
- Transitions must be at a ZERO level....no exceptions. I expect you to be able to control your students during these times throughout the day. There will be testing going on in multiple parts of the building and students need quiet environments.
- Second grade- please bring your students down the back stairs and past the K-1 classes to transition in the building. This will avoid all testing classrooms.
- There will be an announcement when school-wide testing is complete. Transition protocols will still be in effect.
I would like to give a SHOUT OUT to our K and Related Arts teams. I appreciate your family approach while various staff members on your teams have been out. THANK YOU for your dedication to our students!!!!
K-2....as we continue our conversations around TRC, I would like for you to answer the following question at PLC's...what do you want Guided Reading to look like? Be prepared to discuss....think outside the box!!
TECH UPDATE!! Please send me, via email, a FINAL APP request list for your iPads. I will be sending the list to IT tomorrow afternoon. As for issues with the WIfI...we are setting up hot spots around the building to increase the WiFi bandwith. These will be housed in the staff workrooms on each hall...meaning I would like for those rooms to be closed and locked. Students should not be in those rooms for any reason. If you have questions, please let me know.
Continue enforcing positive behavior daily!! Use your Cardinal Cash to drive this enforcement. Make sure transitions, especially dismissal, are being followed with fidelity. When there are inconsistencies among classes, students become confused and think they can do the same. Goal- out of the building and buses rolling by 3:55 pm daily!
