Francisco Maldanado
I was in the military for 11 years, from 9/11/2006 - 09/11/2017, in which I was a Tank Operator (Gunner) for the ARMY National Guard for the 1-185th Armor Battalion and a Military Personnel and Staff Assistant for the ARMY Reserves for the 5th Medical Brigade. Some of my work in the military includes conducting convoy security missions all over Iraq as a vehicle gunner for 14 months from 2008 to 2009. My career in education began when I started working as a para educator for a life skills classroom (mod/severe). I worked as a para educator for about 2 years, while I completed my Bachelors in Sociology. I enjoyed my time as a para educator so much, I decided to get my Masters in Teaching Special Education. I taught SPED M/S for 5 years in which I taught in an Autism classroom, the Special Education Adult Program, and Life Skills programs for the Salinas Union High School District. During my final 2 years as a teacher, I was a trainer for Handle w/Care and Dept. Chair for Special Education. I am currently a School Psychologist Intern and I am working on my 2nd Masters as well as PPSP credential at Brandman University.
