Practice ACT through Breakaway Test Prep for Juniors
As a unique offering for Minnehaha Academy students, Breakaway is presenting this opportunity at no cost. To register your student for the practice test, please visit the link below:
https://www.breakawaytestprep.com/minnehaha-academy-oct24/
If you have any questions about the registration process, please email Breakaway's Education Director, Matt McManus, at matt@breakawaytestprep.com or call Breakaway at 612-578-9995.
ACT/SAT Registration for Juniors
To register for the ACT visit www.act.org. We host the ACT exam one-time-per-year in February here at Minnehaha; otherwise students will need to register to take the exam at a different location.
To register for the SAT visit www.collegeboard.org. We do not host the SAT at Minnehaha.
If your student is unsure which exam is a better fit, encourage them to meet with their counselor to discuss this further. This article also highlights fundamental differences between the two exams. Colleges to do not favor one exam over the other, so this will not have an impact college admissions decisions.
If you believe your student qualifies for special accommodations, please contact our registrar, Diane Rahm, as soon as possible. The process to apply for and receive accommodations can take up two eight weeks to clear. Ultimately ACT and College Board (SAT) make the final call as to whether or not a student qualifies for special accommodations on their respective exam. Diane can be reached at rahmdiane@minnehahaacademy.net.
Free to apply to MnSCU colleges/universities
The colleges and universities of Minnesota State are coming together for special information sessions so your students can learn more about their academic options, financial aid, transferring from a two-year college to a four-year university, and more. Many of these sessions will be VIRTUAL to make it easy and safe! And to top it off, your students can even apply for FREE anytime during the last week of October. Learn more about Minnesota State Week and the FREE application week below or on our website. www.MinnState.edu/MinnStateWk
