Staff Newsletter - Week of 10/01/2018
Thank you to second and fifth grade teachers and support staff for being real troupers during testing. I know it was an exhausting week for everyone, especially the students. Thank you all for being engaged during the extra meetings and making sure you followed all of the guidelines for testing. Jennifer, two state tests down, one more to go! :-)
FALL BREAK! Woo Hoo! Do something fun and get some rest! The schedule for Monday, October 8 will be posted in the Wednesday, October 3 newsletter.

Staff Updates
Tevi Esco - as she continues to recover from a concussion. She has a little bit of cabin fever! She says she misses everyone. Hopefully, she will be able to return to work next week.
Rachel Blair - her fur baby had to have emergency surgery last week. She is now home resting.

Reading Boot Camp
During this second session of Reading Boot Camp, participants will plan for reading instruction for the second nine weeks. Teachers will rotate through three different one hour sessions, which will allow them to examine AKS for which there are common misconceptions, plan mini-lessons for those AKS, and consider how they will plan for responsive small group reading instruction.

Parent Conferences
Parent conferences are right around the corner! Reynell will be sending out reminders about information to cover during your conferences. Lisa Mills will be sending out information for you to begin scheduling conferences with parents. Thanks Lisa! I know this takes a lot of time to organize.
Here are a few reminders:
- Make sure you accommodate the parents schedules during this week.
- You can meet any time during the week with parents.
- If you stay until 6:00 or later on Wednesday, 10/24, you can leave after 1:15 on Thursday, 10/25. Otherwise, you keep your regular 8-4 schedule.
- Keep a log of the parents who attend conferences (in person or by phone)
- Please make sure you look professional during conferences....no jeans.
- Remind parents that school will dismiss at 12:20 on 10/24 and 10:25. Make sure that parents make you aware of any afternoon transportation changes.
- The lunch and specials schedule will be modified on conference days. This information will be posted on the Partee eClass Training Page
