Winslow's Words

Information you want to know!!
- We have the honor of having an additional day this year because of Leap Year! We will not have February 29th again for 4 years. Make the best of this amazing day!
- Long ago as a classroom teacher I remember hearing that February and March are the longest months ever for teachers. We get the winter blues and spring has not yet sprung. We still need to be aware of time. Make sure you arrive to lunch on time and are ready to pick up your students on time. We do not have a luxury of any extra minutes. It is a well-oiled machine and an early arrival or late pick-up will make a difference. If you do have something that causes you to miss the assigned time - let me know or let Joyce know. We will gladly work with you and get things covered. Thank you for working together to do what is best for our students.
- We have Kindergarten Round-Up on Tuesday, March 1st. We will have all of our new little faces in the building that evening. Please have things looking spiffy and inviting! They will come to our current building for summer school, but will start the school year on our new western campus! Thank you for your help with this!
- Start thinking about your fieldtrips! We will need to get buses reserved. Each class has approximately $360 to spend on the bus fees. Let me know projected plans and dates. We will then check with Justin Browning, from the high school, to coordinate the bus with the bus company and get it on the district calendar.
- We have grade level meetings this week - be ready to discuss student growth, absences and behavior! We will switch and have K,1,2, on Tuesday and 3,4,5 on Thursday. We have a fourth grade teacher gone on Tuesday so this will make sure we include all staff!
- Reading textbooks - the samples are all in the conference room. Make sure you go and check them out and get some ideas on what you like and do not like. We will be having some representatives come from the companies to share more with us soon. I have talked and am in the process of getting dates lined up. I hope to do this on Wednesday afternoons to no interfere with other activities.
Thought for the day-----
