The Carleton Chronicle
A weekly update from Carleton Middle School
Clark's Corner
REACHing toward summer,
As we enter Memorial Day weekend I want to continue reflecting on how the our young Colts are REACHing for success.
A student took the advice from a previous article written and was Resourceful in finding a pair of gym pants to put on to meet dress code standards.
Our track team was Engaged in competing in separate 7th and 8th grade track meets against Davis and Heritage Middle Schools in UCS earlier this week.
Over 375 students were honored for being Accountable to their learning and being on the honor roll or having all A's.
At a recent field trip to CJ Barrymore's for our clubs at Carleton, one student was a true friend and showed Compassion by giving up some free time to sit with her friend and make her feel better.
I observed Mrs. Jurnoc's 6th math class work on graphing equations say things like "Hey, this isn't so difficult," and help each work through some problems and smile when it is 75 degrees outside and a three day weekend coming up is the epitome of Having a positive attitude.
Photos
Natalia Manuail (photo above) was given the charge to go from an organic object (a tree in this case) to an inorganic object (a dress) in exactly 5 steps. I'd say she did some creative problem solving in order to capture the essence of the recent art work hanging in Mr. Kausch's office.
You'll also see photos from our recent High Achiever Breakfast. Students were honored that had all A's or met the honor roll requirements during quarters 1, 2 and/or 3. Thank you to our boosters for supplying the goodies and to Joyce Frankowski for printing the hundreds of certificates! Great job students...keep on REACHing for your best.
Lastly, some of our clubs such as Art Club, Ecology Club, Media Center Aides, and Student Council took a trip to CJ Barrymore's and enjoyed a beautiful Michigan afternoon and time away from school. Congratulations for all of your hard work and dedication to Carleton Middle School.
