Regular Meeting
Resolution Not to Exceed the Act 1 Index
The Administration recommended that the Board of School Directors adopt the a Resolution that the School Board will not increase any School District tax for the 2020-2021 fiscal year at a rate that exceeds its index of 2.6% as calculated by the Department of Education for fiscal year July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
Read the press release which links to the new boundary map and school locator link. Lisa thanked the Administration for their work on this and thanked the Board for attending the Town Hall Meetings to listen to public input. Rich Sniscak shared that the task of redistricting is never a pleasant task, so great care was put into the process which took over a year and was spearheaded by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Rod Troutman with a lot of help from the Transportation Department. The School Board has reviewed annual projections yearly for at least the last 20 years, but over the last couple of years, enrollment projects have been reviewed semi-annually which has helped hone in on the planning process for capital projects and enrollment redistricting.
