New Hanover County Schools (NHCS) will hold initial kindergarten enrollment March 1-March 15, 2023. In order to be enrolled for kindergarten, children must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2023. While it may appear early for registration, this timeline allows NHCS to better prepare for staffing needs and hiring certified teachers at each school, efficiently plan for the next school year, and ensures the prompt processing of your student's enrollment request.

Kindergarten enrollment must be completed using our online platform; if you need in-person assistance with registration, please contact your zoned school.
