You Sober? It Could Be Over!
Alcohol isn't a joke.
NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL ABUSE:
Cirrhosis of the Liver
Cirrhosis is a slowly progressing disease in which healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue, eventually preventing the liver from functioning properly. The scar tissue blocks the flow of blood through the liver, slowing the processing of nutrients and naturally produced toxins. It also slows production of proteins and other substances made by the liver. Cirrhosis is caused by abusing alcohol.
Impaired Judgement
Alcohol can affect your reaction time and decision making ability which can lead to a serious consequences. Many drunk driving accidents are the result of slower reaction times and could have been avoided if the person made correct choices. Alcohol can also give someone a false sense of confidence thinking that they can do anything without being harmed. Impaired Judgement is one of the main causes of auto-mobile accidents, or sometimes death.
Memory Loss
Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to partial or totally memory loss. The more alcohol you consume, the more complete this memory loss may be. After a night of heavy drinking, you may not be able to recollect conversations or situations that you were involved in. This sort of memory loss is a key sign of alcoholism. While binge drinking has a negative effect on your memory, moderate drinking may actually reduce your chance of dementia as you grow older.
