Week of January 13
Welcome Back!
We are so excited to be back in the swing of things. Thank you for a fantastic week back! We are looking forward to a great spring semester. Please continue to read with your students every night. We are focusing on growth as we start up 2020. Your partnership in reading every night will help your student reach and exceed the goals for this semester.
Thanks!

ROE Safety Week
ROE will hold our Safety Day on Monday, January 13th. The purpose of this time is for each school to prepare for an actual emergency. We will practice our drills and implement the procedures and our expectations so that in the event of an actual emergency we are prepared and safe. Please remind your students that following directions in an emergency keeps them safe.
Note from the Nurse
It is important to remember that if your child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she must stay out of school until fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications. In addition, students with diarrhea illnesses must stay home until they are diarrhea free without diarrhea-suppressing medications for at least 24 hours. A student may return to school when they have been free from vomiting for 24 hours without medication. When your child is ill, please contact the school (972-617-3523) to let us know he or she won’t be attending that day.
Red Oak ISD now offers two easy ways for parents to report an absence. You may report an absence by logging into your account via a computer or the Red Oak ISD Mobile App.

Morning Drop Off Reminder
For the safety of our students, morning drop off is in the back of the campus until 7:45 am. Students arriving by car should be dropped off in the back of the building. Staff will be available to assist students as they exit cars and enter the building. Please do not stop in front of the building to drop off students. You must drop off at the back of the building. Students may not walk in the front doors by themselves. Parents wishing to walk students into the building will need to park in the front and will be allowed to walk the students into the foyer, but students will walk to the cafeteria and their classrooms by themselves. If your child needs extra assistance, we will have several staff members available. The tardy bell will ring at 7:45. Students arriving after 7:45 will need to be escorted into the building and signed in as tardy. Parents will need to park in the front of the building.

ROISD Volunteer Program
We invite all parents to come to the school and volunteer in a variety of ways. Please don’t forget that every adult must fill out a background check each and every year. Without this background check, adults will not be allowed to assist in the classroom/ library, field trips, campus events, etc. Background checks are on-line at the
ROISD website under the Parent Tab / Volunteer Program.
