What's Going On in the Library?
October 2016
Meet Famous Authors and Illustrators!
One of the most awesome events of the year is happening on Saturday, 10/15 at the Lincoln School in Providence. For just $5 per person, you can meet some of the most renowned children's authors and illustrators around. This flyer by my colleague Melanie Roy has details on the presenters and their work. A quick rundown of the ones Oak Lawn students would know best:
- Cece Bell - author/illustrator of El Deafo, the 2016 RICBA winner
- Sophie Blackall - illustrator of Ivy & Bean, as well as the Caldecott-winning Finding Winnie
- Brian Collier - illustrator of 2017 RICBA nominee Trombone Shorty
- Charise Harper - author of the Just Grace series
- Chris Van Allsburg - author/illustrator of Jumanji and The Polar Express
