NPA Family Update

November 6, 2023

Greeting NPA Families

This communication includes information about your student's next assignment sheet and other relevant NPA happenings.

The annual Health Kids Survey is open now. We are asking that ALL parents/guardians/caretakers take a moment to share your feedback on NPA. This is valuable for us and we implement change with the findings to better our program.

Parents/Guardians - Click HERE To complete the survey - THANK YOU!

This week all students are completing assignment sheet #3 and will be receiving assignment sheet #4. Average Daily Attendance (ADA) at an independent study = work completion. Your student should have earned 14 days of attendance. How did your student do this assignment sheet?

ASK your student - Green, Yellow, or Red after their meeting this week.

ADA % for Satisfactory -- 80-100%

ADA % for Unsatisfactory Tiered Re-Engagement - 60-79%

ADA % for Unsatisfactory - immediate evaluation of placement - below 60%

Click here to see the NPA student handbook pages 7-8 for more information

Assignment sheet #4, given this week, has 15 days of ADA. The sample shown below is a Wednesday student. Please ask to see your student's new assignment sheet after the teacher meeting this week.

A reminder that the NPA campus will be closed for November 10 (in observance of Verertans' Day) as well as November 22-24, 2023 (Thanksgiving break).

As usual, NPA parents/guardians/caregivers are welcome at any student meeting. Let us know if you need any assistance.

Your student's 10 Year Plan

NPA will be focusing on each student's 10 Year Plan in this assignment sheet. Within the 10-year plan (Career Choices) students answer the questions: Who am I? What do I want? How do I get it? This is a timely conversation as November is known as National Career Development Month signaling students to focus on their future career choices.

We want you to know more about this course and why we at NPA feel so very strongly about the benefits for all students. Please watch the 5-minute video below.

Social Media and Negativity

The Block it Out Campaign offers the platform for discussing the negative impacts of social media in general. We recommend having the conversation at home and we'll have it at school. Let's all take the time to consider blocking out the negative.
