Newsletter Term 2 Week 1
St Patrick's School Masterton 26th April 2023
TUMUAKI/PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa, nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa!
Welcome back everyone and I hope that you all had a restful and enjoyable break from school life and are now settling into the season of Autumn. The children have settled well and are back into the routine of school, learning and playing with friends. This week we will be sending home syndicate newsletters with more details of programmes and what is happening in each syndicate for the new term, so please look out for these.
Today, we welcomed a group of new students to St Patrick’s School with a wonderful pōwhiri. The group included five children who were on their first day of school and one other older student joining the Kildare Syndicate. We are of course super excited that they have chosen to be at St Patrick’s School and we look forward to getting to know them and their families. We also welcomed Philippa Young to our team who will be working in Hub 1 with our youngest children here at school. We are sure she will be a great addition to the school and she is certainly looking forward to meeting our children and families.
Yesterday, in the early hours, some of our student leaders and a range of other students joined the wider community at the Masterton Anzac Day ceremony. The children, on behalf of the school community paid their respects to those who served the country during war. A school wreath was laid on behalf of the school by Harriet and Praise.
